Garden Party at La Jolla Woman’s Club

We had a fabulous Sunday afternoon celebrating the launch of Fredrica Syren’s new vegan cookbook, “Yummy In My Tummy, Healthy Cooking for the Whole Family.”  The La Jolla Woman’s Club was the perfect spot for this Sunday afternoon garden party.  The event included vegan treats as well as an energetic performance by the organic kid-folk band Hullabaloo.  Everyone enjoyed the celebratory afternoon complete with good friends, family and music to kick off the launch of this new cookbook.  

Many thanks to Fredrica for inviting me to participate in such a special project.  Through working with Fredrica I have been able to photograph two subjects that bring me much joy in life - adorable little ones and delicious food!

Vegan Cookbook Project Launch Party At La Jolla Woman's Club

This summer and fall has been a busy one for me full of interesting projects, beautiful events and wonderful people.  One celebration ahead I am really looking forward to is this, Sunday, October 16th. The launch party for the the vegan cookbook project I've been working on with the talented author, Fredrica Syren will be held this week end.  Fredrica's vision is to share healthy, easy cooking tips with families.  I had the pleasure of photographing and tasting many of her delicious recipes through our series of photo shoots.  This project was particularly fun for me, since we were also able to have the entire family and friends participate in the photography sessions to create lifesytle portraits featured in the book.

Happy Together

As you can tell by the big smiles and true joy this couple share just being together, my job was easy.  Meet Hugh and Susan, a wonderful couple who hired me to take their portrait together for their four year anniversary.  We had a blast just goofing around and enjoying the beautiful day.

 

Spring Wedding in Greenville, South Carolina

We were on the road again this month to have the pleasure of documenting this very special wedding day for Logan and Josh. Their wedding was at the Upcountry History Museum in Greenville, South Carolina. Perfect location, as the bride was not only born in South Carolina but also a history major in college.  

We encountered all that spring can bring on this wedding day, complete with thunderstorms that parted into gorgeous spring sunshine just in time for these photos.  

Congratulations Logan and Josh.  We wish you many years of happiness ahead!

 

 

 

 

Outtakes from the cookbook project

I really had a blast working on this project.  So thought I’d share a few of the outtakes from my most recent session this month.  Isn’t making salad with little ones fun.

 

San Diego Wedding with Sunshine and Sprinkles of Rain

I had the pleasure of meeting some really wonderful people this weekend as I worked with a talented photographer and friend of mine.  We began our day photographing the bride getting ready at the groom’s parents home.  Then we walked across the street to get some photos of the groom and his best man getting ready at the best man’s childhood home.  Love it when you grow up living next door to your good buddy.  That’s just the best.

The wedding ceremony was at Saint Terese Parish and the reception was at Tom Ham’s Lighthouse.  

We got sprinkled on by a little bit of rain at times, but the sunshine made it through the clouds making for a beautiful reception complete with view of the water and the downtown San Diego skyline.

 

And I could not help but post this last shot.  It was the sign on the front door of the best man's home. When I saw the sign I thought this captures the spirit of the day.

Cookbook Cover Designs

Valentine Baby

What better way to say happy Valentines Day than with photos of this precious little one.  Gota love the pink leggings with the hearts.

The Cookbook Project and Delicious Chocolate Cake

I have been waking up and thinking about this chocolate cake for days now, and its been a week since this photo shoot.  So thought what better thing to do then share this photo.

Over the past few months I have had the pleasure of spending time with Fredrica Syren author of a new vegan cookbook focusing on teaching families how to incorporate simple healthy cooking tips into their busy lives.  The photo shoots have been lively complete with little ones to add color and fun to the experience.  It has been a blast working with Fredrica (chef-baker-mother-yoga teacher-and so much more) on this project.

Through this project, we are also lucky enough to get to work with art director-graphic designer Heather Kern of popshop studio.  She has the amazing talent bringing to life the images and recipes through her design.

Beautiful Maui Wedding at the Olowalu House

We just got back into town this week after spending a spectacular few days in Maui to photograph Cindy and Mike’s wedding.  The entire day felt like a dream  - gorgeous setting, amazing people, and love felt all around on this joyous occasion.  

Thank you Cindy and Mike for giving my husband, Robbie, and me the honor of documenting your special day.  Wishing you many happy years ahead.  Congratulations!
